Unpaid work, often referred to as “invisible” work, includes all activities essential to the development and well-being of society — such as childcare and caregiving, volunteer work, and unpaid mandatory internships — that are not accounted for in the formal economy or recognized at their fair value.
Recognizing invisible labor is essential for achieving gender equality. Since the pandemic, this unpaid work has gained significant visibility, particularly due to lockdowns and increased responsibilities among parents and caregivers.
The Coalition brings together organizations across the country working towards the recognition, appreciation, and compensation of unpaid labor by engaging political, economic, and social stakeholders to achieve sustainable changes in public policies.
